No. 7: Seven ink paintings
Dear Friends,
In this post, I'm excited to share a series of seven ink paintings created by my brother, each a journey into his artistic soul.
With only black ink, these paintings dance between light and shadow. This is a style that's simple in color but deep in meaning, similar to old calligraphy and ink wash paintings that use the darkness of the ink to say something strong and clear.
Each painting is an explosion of feelings, much like the works of famous artists from the Abstract Expressionism movement. They didn't plan their paintings but let their emotions guide their hands.
The strong yet smooth lines remind me of Japanese ink paintings, where each stroke is thoughtful and full of purpose. My brother's control over the ink shows his skill and respect for this traditional way of painting.
The lines and dots in these paintings are full of life and movement. They show my brother's energy and passion, much like a dancer's performance where every move is filled with emotion.
At first glance, these paintings might seem simple because they use only black ink. But if you look closer, you'll see a complex story in every line and spot. They invite you to discover the hidden details that make each painting special.
Although these pieces don't show real-life forms, some have hints of faces or bodies. This shows a mix of real and imaginary worlds, capturing the feelings and expressions that make us human.
Plenty of splatters and the rough style also connect to the energy we see in street art and graffiti today, where being direct and making an impact are what count.
I truly wish that the scans could capture every subtle nuance and the full depth of the ink's gradients. In person, the artwork is even more captivating, with the textured paper adding another dimension that simply can't be replicated digitally.
Thank you for your support and, as always,
Be well.
