Mental Health Disclaimer
Hey everyone,
As we journey together through the unveiling of my brother's art and writings, I feel it's very important to pause and address a significant aspect of this newsletter.
My brother's life, as reflected in his artworks and essays, was deeply intertwined with personal struggles, including mental health issues and substance abuse.
His choice to end his life, a topic that will be present in this narrative, is an extremely profound and sensitive subject.
I realize that discussions around these themes can be triggering or deeply affecting for some. So, I want to ensure that we approach this with the utmost care and sensitivity.
Here's what you can expect and how I want handle these topics:
Content Warnings: I will include specific warnings at the beginning of posts that directly deal with sensitive topics like suicide, mental illness, and drug use.
Respectful Language: The content will be handled with respect and empathy, avoiding sensationalism or graphic details.
Open Dialogue: This platform is a space for sharing and reflection, not just about art, but also about the complexities of human experience. I welcome constructive and supportive conversations. I also expect respect in the comments.
Personal Discretion Advised: Please exercise personal discretion when engaging with the content. Your mental and emotional well-being is important. If you feel that this type of content doesn’t work for you, please find something else that helps you grow.
This newsletter is not just a showcase of my brother's talent but also an exploration of his human experience, with all its layers and challenges. It's a journey I am committed to approaching with honesty, respect, and sensitivity.
Thank you for your understanding and for joining me in this delicate exploration.
All the best,
Jack
